Meet and Greet MobiCart

If you fancy meeting up with MobiCart over a beer or two to chat about business, then head to Newcastle for a new boozing and shaking event that launches next month.

Following in the footsteps of the success of February’s Pub Summit, which saw the North East’s thriving tech scene come together to meet like-minded start-ups, investors, media and advisers to talk shop over a drink, a new event – Startup Beers – will begin on May 9.

The event is open to anyone interested in startups and other digital adventures and gives North East-based businesses the chance to catch up and collaborate over beers provided by cloud-based email service, Sendgrid. Martyn Davies, of Sengrid, will also be on hand to talk about all things email.

MobiCart Wins About.com Readers’ Choice Awards

MobiCart has walked away winner of a prestigious award.

Competition was fierce in the About.com Readers’ Choice Awards but it was thanks to all of those who voted for us that we scooped the top spot in the Best Tool for App Designers category.

Wladimir Baranoff-Rossine, MobiCart founder and CEO, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have won this award and would like to thank everyone who took the time to vote for us.

“We are really proud of our product and excited about what the future holds for MobiCart, plus we were up against some really strong contenders so it means a lot to have won.”

Thinking Digital hits the North East

It’s that time of year again when the world’s top techies descend on the North East of England for the esteemed Thinking Digital Conference.

And as avid supporters of the conference since launching six years ago, the MobiCart team will once again be attending the three-day event.

Attracting talent from the globe’s technology, media, science, industry and arts sectors, Thinking Digital welcomes speakers from across the world to Gateshead and Newcastle to share their pearls of wisdom with the audience.

Today saw the first round of speakers announced. This year’s bill of savvy speakers include Mike Bracken, former digital director of Guardian News and Media, Horace Dediu, who was crowned “the new king of apple analysts” by Fortune Magazine, Ed Parons, Ordnance Survey’s first CTO, and Graham Hughes, a British film-maker who recently completed a four-year journey to every country in the world without ever stepping onto a plane.

Head of technology joins MobiCart team

MobiCart has welcomed a new head of technology on board.

Adrian Gordon has joined the MobiCart ranks and will be using his wealth of experience in the technology and mobile application sector to help push the product into exciting new realms.

Among his many accolades, Adrian has spent several years sharing his skills as senior lecturer at the University of Sunderland and Northumbria University in entrepreneurship and software development skills, and computing and programming respectively.

Adrian, who gained a PhD in France in Artificial Intelligence, specialises in system analysis and design, software development, mobile and wireless devices, web technologies and business modelling.
